A.S.A.P.

Ever wonder about the abbreviation
A.S.A.P. ?

My little bro sent this in an email - thought it was a great idea and wanted to share it with you!

Generally, we think of it in terms of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days along the way.

*************
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time " is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

The 10th Blessed Truth is the last lesson in this series - this has been an enlightening study, don't you think?
Remember ~ No God, No Peace
Know God, Know Peace!
That says it all, doesn't it! Have a great weekend! ;D

10 Blessed Truths - #9

The 9th Blessed Truth is TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF

Take care of yourself - this does not make
you self-centered.

It makes you centered!

What do you think about this truth? It's something to think about, because if I'm down then I bring down everyone else or at least slow them down... So if I'm on the ball and organized then I can keep the arrow straight... how's that for an analogy! So if we take care of ourselves - we should be well centered! That means to eat right, exercise, fill our minds with good, positive stuff and stay clear of the bad. Easy - right? Let's try! Good Luck!

Say "NO" to DRAMA!
Bring down the curtain on drama.
Simplify your life by vowing to stop turning minor
upsets into major blowups!
Hey! This would be great as a big sign up in the classroom of the high school! "Say NO to drama" - except my next door neighbor at school is the drama teacher... hmmm! I'll have to say it another way! "Simplify your life!" maybe? Hannah L. is a sweetie! She'll laugh - she's our "Drama Diva" at school. Anyways, I totally agree. A blessed truth is life without drama! What do you think? Many blow up minor things to massive situations - involving too many for what? Just to stir things up?? I enjoy a peaceful life! How about you?

10 Blessed Truths - #7

The 7th Blessed Truth is to STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE!
Don't strive for perfection. It's not possible. Instead, strive for excellence.
All you can do is your best!
Okay! This is a great concept! If I just give a 110%, I'll be just fine! Striving for excellence! Move out of my way - here I come! Make way for the fat, short woman... hahaha! (Yeah, that's me in the pic, um hum take a good look! I must be dreaming!) Have a great week, this week! Love all the rain!

The 6th Blessed Truth is to keep it SIMPLE
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
Ahhh - the Golden Rule! Wouldn't we all be better off if we followed this one
simple rule? So simple; but so difficult!

#5 Blessed truth is FORGIVE
Learn to forgive yourself and others. Letting go of blame frees you to discover the true blessing of your life.
This isn't an easy one, is it? Through life - it's a bitter-sweet trial when forgiving. I've learned the hard way in forgiving. You have GOT to forgive or you can't move on. It was the most difficult thing so far in my life to achieve...and still I wonder if I have completely forgiven people in my past.

TGIF! This week was a long one; maybe because it brings a close to our first 6 weeks or no football game this Friday (The Bobcats were open)? I don't know - I'm ready to sleep past 6 AM and have my kids snuggle with me in the morning!
Think we'll have pancakes... (yum) for a brunch! Then off to flag football games; I've got more Birthday projects coming up! Be sure and check back! Have a great weekend! (~:

10 Blessed Truths - #4

Be of a GIVING NATURE is the fourth blessed truth;
But don't be self-sacrificing.  Helping others nurtures the soul;
giving of yourself until you are spent does not.
Ouch!  This one hurts!  Kyle must've sent this one in!  He's my voice to just say "NO".  "You give too much - what's left for us?" -- are his common words to me as I lay there exhausted wondering what I did to get that way!  I love to give and give and give - and I have a problem of when to say enough.  What about you - can you say NO when your obligations are full?  Do you save some of yourself before your soul is sucked dry?  How do you do it?  Okay... so I'm praying to be content and to give but not to be self-sacrificing.  Oh! And to love myself more and spend more quiet time. Gotta run - got things to do!  Hope you have a great day!

Allow yourself QUIET TIME is the third blessed truth.  Relish your solitude and quiet time.  Don't feel guilty about it - revel in it.  Your mind, body and spirit crave it.
HEY! I LIKE this one!  But I DO feel guilty taking time out for myself.  Do you ever do that?  After a long day of a "million" students talking, laughing... it's so nice to find a quiet place; then my kids come home and I'm trying to find quiet and they want to share, I sometime wonder if I give them enough attention.  There is got to be a "win-win" situation somewhere!  Lately, I've been waiting until the boys go to sleep - then I go listen to a book and craft.  But some days it's so hard to find the energy... and of course there are bills to pay, bathrooms to clean, clothes to wash... argh!  I need to spend more time reading the Bible - but where do I fit it in?  I use to get up in the mornings and read - just Dallas (family dog) and I; but I haven't done that this year.  Maybe I'll take my Bible and read during my conference at school.  When do you find the time to study?  I have a better peace of mind if I read early in the day and able to carry it with me throughout the day... hmmm.  Relish in quiet time... okay - gonna do it.  You try it too!  Hey!  It can't hurt, right!  Have a great day!

10 Blessed Truths - #2

The second blessed truth is to BE CONTENT.
The Bible says "Whatever state I am, therewith to be content.  You are blessed."  We need to recognize and acknowledge that fact and be happy with what we have.
Okay - this hurts!  The Lord must know I'm attending a card party next week and love to get new items... I've got to use what I have!  (I can hear Kyle laughing...)  To be content - it's harder than you think... our family always find something we want and its an age of "instant gratification" - because we want it NOW. Our boys often say, "Just write a check for it!".  This method has killed our family in healthy eating!  Fast food is quick and satisfies (and I don't have a kitchen to clean afterwards!)  but is SO unhealthy. Do you find yourself doing the same?  After working all day, I'm tired and my boys are hungry...  I'm going to need help with this one!  To realize that I've got enough and just use what I have; to stay home... and remember where I've put it!  Whew, 'gonna have to pray hard and be persistent.  Are you content... really content in the state your in?  How did you do it?  Help!

10 Blessed Truths

Birthstone Text - http://www.birthstonetext.com
      This Monday, I've started a study of 10 Blessed Truths. Thought I would share with you.
#1 Blessed Truth is to love yourself.
 Effect change within your heart and soul in order to be the best person that you can be.  Loving yourself is a blessed truth.
    Boy!  That's a hard one!  To love myself...hmmm.   Do you love yourself?  How do you know?  I wonder who I am and why has God put me here?  I believe that one of my God given talent is to be an encourager.  To encourage, push, up-lift and support my Christian family,  friends and students - I am needed!  Being the best person that I can be involves people!  I need to lift up, to reach out, to help and encourage who I meet each day. (That's why I make cards so often... to "encourage"... right?)  To love myself - I've got to share my "love" with you -- soooo watch out - here I come! hahaha!  What's your God-given talents?
