It's ALMOST summer...

Oh - W.O.W.!

It's almost summer

 - one more week and we are there!  It's been so CRAZY - awards assemblies for both boys along with several banquets!  We have been going "non-stop"... this is the reason that teachers need a summer break! LOL!  TRUE STORY!
Just going to post several pictures to show off the boys' activities - you are sweet to let me share!

ALEX is a JUNIOR - fixing to "rule the school" as a senior - as he keeps telling me every day for the last several weeks...  sniff! sniff!  Here's pics from the FFA Banquet, CHS All-Sports Banquet and the CHS Awards Assembly!

Aric is an 8th grader - last year of CJHS - here is Aric at the year ending Band Concert, CJHS Awards Assembly, our last son at CJHS pic and a 8th grade banquet.

YES!  My boys are growing UP!  Did you notice in the very first picture of them... Aric is the same height of Alex - ARGH!  Andy now is the shortest of the boys - LOL!  He still claims to be the wisest... !    Wishing you an AWESOME weekend - JUNE is almost here!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

CHS 2014 Jr/Sr Banquet & Prom

Hello!  It's MAY and it is W.I.L.D.!!

As a teacher, this is normal - to be sprinting for the finish line.  To add to the race - KV and I are both Junior Class sponsors... what that means is - PROM!  It only occurs once ever 4 years  (It takes that long to re cooperate!)  The theme was picked for "Roaring 20's / Great Gasby" - colors are black, gold and white! We have an EXCELLENT group of kids - so all went well.  And their parents really pitched in and helped so much! Here are some pictures before the banquet - after decorating for 3 days and planning for months! LOL  It really was a beautiful time!  Gym never looked so good! Ha!

The craziness adds up to also include ALEX's first PROM - (he's a junior!)  SO!  With a prearranged date (are you kidding - think he would actually TALK to a girl... psst!)  It really went on without a hitch - they looked AMAZING (yes!  I'm partial!)  Here are more pictures!

Thanks for letting me share!  We've got more banquets before school is out - stay tuned!

Hope you are well and hanging in there - summer is coming!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most - until next time...

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Wishing you a blessed
St. Patrick's Day today!

Catching Up...

Greeting to you, my friend!

How are you doing?

Wishing you an AWESOME day ahead!

Just a couple of pictures to catch up on the blog!  Our boys have been busy, busy!  Which means, we've been busy - chasing them! LOL!!

Aric - our social butterfly - is gearing up for TRACK SEASON!  Soon to start... Friday; Feb. 28.  Here's a group picture of some 8th graders at a birthday party.  This kid is going to be in high school VERY soon!

Alex has been busy managing the varsity CHS basketball team.  - they played their last game in a heartbreaker of a game on Friday... vs. Littlefield.  We lost by 2 points...  This team was extra special - they've been playing since elementary school and were very skilled in playing - we just ran out of time.

Alex will be managing the CHS Baseball team (if his grades stay up...) and will be running TRACK also for the varsity team this year!  Can you believe it's almost MARCH??

And my first-born will turned 25 on the 23rd of this month!  My boys are growing up way too fast!  Andy is doing well - just received another promotion; he's working for Coca Cola United Bottling Company; this kid is working 60+ hours a week - and still living in Alabama...  Miss him terribly.  It's a joy to watch my kids grow up... but miss the time when they were all under the same roof and small in size - sniff, sniff!

Next up on the agenda for the blog is the monthly CARD SWAP!  Our challenge is to make a birthday card that incorporates a banner...  come back soon to check out the cards!

Thanks for stopping by, remember to hug the ones you love the most - until next time...

Alex's Senior Ring!

Introducing the Class of 2015 from Childress High School

They just received their senior rings at the CHS Ring Ceremony held this week.

Where has the time flown to...  from diapers, snotty noses and now a senior ring! LOL!
Here's some more pictures from the ceremony.

The tradition continues...  Class of '82, '15 and '88!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share!  Wishing you a GREAT day!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

Every Day is Precious

Every Day is Precious!

Over the weekend, one of our youth groups from Childress were involved in a serious traffic accident coming home from a concert in Lubbock. (Carey Baptist Church)

They hit black ice about 40 miles from home.  10 kids and the driver were badly hurt; three are still in the Lubbock hospital after being flown there early Sunday morning.

These are such great kids - most of them are bouncing back - so lucky that no one was fatally hurt.

Please keep these kiddos in prayer - especially a sweet, friendly young lady named Jacquelyn and awesomely shy young man named James - both students of mine that have extensive injuries.  Thank you!

Fire in the Art Room!

Yep!  There was a fire in the CHS Art Room!  It occurred during the weekend (April 12-13) - Friday night or Saturday - my principal found the damage on Sunday when complaints came in that there were problems with the internet server - which had turned off because of the heat - and he came up to the school with the Tech supervisor to investigate.

The damage was medium range - smoke damage mainly along with the burned wall and ceiling.  Luckily, the sheetrock and the ceiling tiles were both flame resistance - the fire put itself out.  No one was hurt; the smell is bad.  Some paperwork lost - but all will be okay!

What started the fire?  Good question!  Some think the lamp; others think the pencil sharpener - a short in the wiring...

NOW!  This is the room after clean up - so sad! It was a great room for 6 years.  I'll be relocating in the main hall next year.  Right now, the art room has been moved to the homemaking sewing room for the remainder of this school year - change is good! (I hope!)
28 days left!

Busiest Week yet in 2013

Greetings from the Vannoy Clan!

Welcome
Spring Time!

They tell us, as parents, that we will miss these busy times...

I wonder if this will be true?  LOL!  We are trying to get everything prepared for our annual church trip to LTC at the Anatole in Dallas, Tx.  Track is going strong - along with Aric playing basketball.

Alex has begun judging poultry for FFA.  In 4-H, the boys are preparing for the annual photography contest - as well as, the community-wide Easter Egg Hunt that 4-H sponsors every year.

SO!  We have been very busy...  my "list" runneth over!  LOL!  Plus Piano Guild and group has started up and both boys signed up to play the piano at "Share the Fun" for 4-H at District Round Up.  Whew!  Needless to say - we are busy!

How are you?  Wishing you a blessed day, today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Guess who the Easter Bunny is this year?

Alex was very nice and volunteered to be the Easter Bunny at the 4-H Easter Egg Hunt!  The costume is one that was made a while ago - you can hardly see through the mask - but the kids LOVE it!

This week is only a "4 day" week - Easter weekend!  We've got a track meet Thursday in Wellington, Tx (both high school and junior high - thank goodness!) and then it's off to Dallas - Friday morning for LTC! (Leadership Training for Christ).  LTC post, along with March's Card Swap post coming soon!  Be sure and check back!
