Here we are in the final days of August of 2011.
Hope you and yours are healthy and happy!
Here are more pictures from the 1st day of school- had to embarrass the boys well, huh! It is so wild to drive pass the elementary school in the mornings... we've been stopping there for over 15 years - LOL! The boys are STILL loving school!
The best thing about having all BOYS is not spending "an arm and leg" on clothes and accessories - but today's tennis shoes are (OMG) expensive! Here's a pic of the boys NEW shoes for school. And now it's only BLACK socks - white socks are so "uncool" - hmmmmm!
All I got for starting school was new nail polish - hee hee! Black "crackle" nail polish - here it's over red. Should have got the white "crackle" - then put over blue for BOBCAT SPIRIT on Fridays! Pretty cool - but chips easy! Only got a couple of days wear out of this style. Boo!
Here's a quick recipe swap for ya - we ate this yesterday for dessert. YUM! Of course, we used lots of Cool Whip - KV picked out all the fruit - geesh! Boys liked it!
It's SUPER easy! And makes for a quick dessert or snack - only 3 ingredients! Got it from the Pioneer Woman (did you see her new show on Saturday? - fabulous!) She calls it her Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa Cake... it's from the movie "Steel Magnolias"! This recipe is like a cobbler - but so simple! Try it -
Easy Fruit Cocktail Cake
1 cup Self-Rising Flour
1 cup Sugar
1 can Fruit Cocktail With Juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8-inch square baking dish. Stir together flour, sugar, and fruit cocktail with juice until just combined. Pour into greased pan and bake for 40-42 minutes until warm and bubbly. Serve w/vanilla ice cream or topped w/whipped cream!
Serve warm with unsweetened whipped cream.
