Venus & Jupiter
Are you ready for some spectacular sky scenery tonight? Last night was perfect to view the cresant shaped moon, with a bonus of seeing the two planets Venus and Jupiter. Go outside tonight (we went out about 6:30 PM last night). It's beautiful! What's happening is called a conjunction. It's a term used in positional astronomy which means two (or more) celestial bodies appear near one another in the sky. Sometimes the event is also called an appulse. (Okay - that's your "science or astronomy" lesson today!) No matter what you call it, what you'll see tonight is a worldwide happening and we're lucky to live in an area that we can see it clearly. I think Venus is the closer one to the moon (- think Very close; Venus) Go outside tonight and look- Don't miss it!
