We survived... LTC 2013

We survived!
Yep!  There were 48 LTC participants from Childress, Tx - plus family, friends, coaches and preachers that traveled Easter weekend to Dallas, Tx for the North Texas LTC Convention at the Anatole hotel.

I love the Anatole...  I do! - here's a pic of the main lobby from our room on the 10th floor to show you the "floating cloud" artwork.  Then a pic of Aric and KV enjoying the art from the ground floor!

The boys always enjoy this convention - they completed the projects of:  bulletin board, service challenge, Bible challenge, Christian Art, puppets, drama, Bible reading and speech - this year.  The LTC theme was "Extra Mile" this year.  It's just getting there that is the chore - with all the projects, speeches written and so forth!  LOL!
KV judged the 3rd & 4th grade girls' Bible reading Friday night.

My team were the 9th & 10th grade puppets - who did an outstanding job on Saturday!

Here are some more pictures from LTC.

Of course, we had to grab some geocaches!  Our goal was to grab several different types of caches - we grabbed a virtual, a earth and a multi-cache along with several normal caches on Saturday in downtown Dallas - super cool!

It was a great weekend!  Here are several more pictures during our historic walk downtown Dallas - including the JFK's grassy knoll!

Thanks for letting me
share with you today!
March Card Swap is next on the agenda for blog post - stay tuned!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

LTC 2012

Another year completed for LTC!

"Leadership in Training for Christ" is a Church of Christ event for young people to participate in a variety of events during the long Easter weekend.

These group and individual events have really taught my boys techniques and skills that will last alifetime! We have been involved with LTC for over 12 years. From song leading, giving speeches, reading Bible scriptures to the group events of chorus, puppets and drama ~ along with a bunch of preconvention events - Christian art, powerpoint presentation and one-minute message.

Our church group has grown to over a 100 in the last couple of years - all traveling together and staying the weekend in Dallas, Tx. The last two years, we had the privilege of staying at the Hilton Anatole - which is an experience in itself. It's a fun time for all! Sure, it's stressful and time consuming - but my boys enjoy it and have really learned a lot! So, YES! We will be doing this again~

Here's pictures of the weekend spent at LTC 2012!

We also grabbed 15 geocaches along the way to and from our travels this weekend, along with 2 travel bugs. We are aiming for hitting the big 500 for the summer!

Thank you for letting me share pictures of the boys - I've got more pictures of the weekend -please check back later for the Texas Ranger game post! Hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying the longer days and cool nights - they are so nice, right now! Evening is my favorite time of the day - maybe that's when I'm finally home and gearing down from all the day's activities - but I LOVE to sit outside and drink a glass of tea while watching the stars begin to pop out into the dark sky!

Be sure and stop by often, remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

A night at the "Main Event"

WOW! Have you ever been to a
"Main Event"?
It's an entertainment center -
like Chucky Cheese on steroids - LOL!
My boys LOVED it!
We bowled, played laser tag, glow-in-the-dark putt-putt golf, played all kinds of arcade games and had a very nice mexican buffet ALL at the Main Event on Saturday night.

We went with a group - got a great group price - and "all ages" had a great time!
Our family highly recommends spending some time at a "Main Event"!

**Also I had a childhood friend stop by - just to see who was from the Childress Church of Christ - and we had a great visit! Love, love, love her son BRETT! Thank you again - Traci! I cherish our memories!

Here's some pictures from our "Main Event" escape! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Highlights from the weekend (LTC)...

Finally a chance to blog!
How are you?
Hope things are going well for you... Thanks for dropping by!

This last weekend was our big LTC trip that we make annually with our church's youth group. It's a HUGE competition for Leaders in Training for Christ (LTC) at the Anatole in Dallas, TX.

This year, our family was a little more prepared and we competed in 14 areas for EACH boy. But that's divided between Pre-convention, challenges and at the convention - which we did 5 events at. Our church as been preparing since January for this event. During the convention, it gets very chaotic - but the boys each learned a lot!
Here's some picture highlights of their projects and events:

Christian Art - Sculpture
Puppets

Bible Reading, speech and song leading

Christian Drama

And the WHOLE group - all 45 kids who participated!

Still washing clothes and trying to catch up on missed sleep! All went well and the boys did very good.

Well, it wouldn't be complete without a pic of Andy! Here's Andy Hayes along with Savannah K. during Spring Break. Andy - we MISS YOU! That "ding-dong" hit his 100th geocache this last weekend - SO JEALOUS! He's beating us by almost 50... argh!

Counting down until the summer! LOL Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week! Hug the ones you love the most (at least 6 seconds!)
