We survived... LTC 2013

We survived!
Yep!  There were 48 LTC participants from Childress, Tx - plus family, friends, coaches and preachers that traveled Easter weekend to Dallas, Tx for the North Texas LTC Convention at the Anatole hotel.

I love the Anatole...  I do! - here's a pic of the main lobby from our room on the 10th floor to show you the "floating cloud" artwork.  Then a pic of Aric and KV enjoying the art from the ground floor!

The boys always enjoy this convention - they completed the projects of:  bulletin board, service challenge, Bible challenge, Christian Art, puppets, drama, Bible reading and speech - this year.  The LTC theme was "Extra Mile" this year.  It's just getting there that is the chore - with all the projects, speeches written and so forth!  LOL!
KV judged the 3rd & 4th grade girls' Bible reading Friday night.

My team were the 9th & 10th grade puppets - who did an outstanding job on Saturday!

Here are some more pictures from LTC.

Of course, we had to grab some geocaches!  Our goal was to grab several different types of caches - we grabbed a virtual, a earth and a multi-cache along with several normal caches on Saturday in downtown Dallas - super cool!

It was a great weekend!  Here are several more pictures during our historic walk downtown Dallas - including the JFK's grassy knoll!

Thanks for letting me
share with you today!
March Card Swap is next on the agenda for blog post - stay tuned!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

2012 Educator of the Year Award / more basketball!

Hello there!  How are you doing?

Our weekend went by FAST !  Makes me sad when that happens...!  I love the weekends!  LOL!  Wishing you an AMAZING week this week!  Thanks for stopping by!

We headed to Tulia, Texas this Saturday for a junior high basketball power-shot tournament.  Playing two games each with no brackets!  The mighty 7th grade team did great - winning one and losing one.  We were able to  grab some Mexican food in between games.

It was also a great day to grab several geocaches that were in the area!  We found two caches hid by the "king" and this is a BIGGIE in our world to find these type of caches!  He is one "stealthy" dude! LOL!  Our "GEAR" study begins this next weekend - February 1st!

The annual Childress Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held that Saturday evening - this is held by the city and awarding citizens with a variety of honors.  Kyle won the Educator of the Year (again!) - he knew something was up when his mom was sitting at the table when we arrived at the banquet.  I had initially got him there because of a nomination of a friend for Man of the Year...  sneaky, huh!  It was and is an honor to be married to Childress' 2012 Educator of the Year!  He truly is a dedicated man to his profession and really gives 110% with his job and everyone that works with him.  VERY proud of this man!

Card Swap is coming up on Tuesday - fun, fun, fun! Also, lots more of basketball -  It's going to be a full week - will post soon.  Have a great day!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

Joining the GEAR program!

HELLO!  How are you today?  Got something exciting (for us!) to share with you today!

You know that our family loves to GEOCACHE - we have mentioned it several times on this blog (insert sarcasm... because it's a LOT more than several!)
WELL!  The University of Texas A & M is holding a research over the sport of geocaching.  We applied and have been accepted to participate in the year-long study!
It's for the purpose of learning how much physical activity is involved with geocaching.  We will have a monthly survey to fill out and able to give feedback on our adventures in geocaching.  We are SO excited!  Will keep you posted on this and how it is going!

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

Perfect Fall Weather... 2012

Hello there!

So, hope you are having a great day!
It's been so beautiful the last two weeks - know that cooler days are ahead - just soaking up the fall season each day!

Both boys played their last football game Thursday night against Bushland.  We chose to stay in town for Alex's game - when dropping off Aric (who was traveling away) remarked that he was going to run for a long touchdown and was sorry that we would miss it... (guilt trip!)  Guess what?  The little toot did - he ran a 82 yard touchdown for the last one of the 7th grade season - ARGH! Great! - well, all I have are some pictures of Aric during his last pep rally - playing the drums.

Saturday, we traveled to the District 4-H Food Show!  Both boys survived! - Aric had 16 in his division (biggest category there) - he didn't make the top 5 but Alex won 4th in his division.  It was a good day!
Don't they look handsome in their suits - where are my little boys?

Wishing you a great week - can't believe that we are fixing to be off for Thanksgiving break - yahoo!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

NOVEMBER 2012

Prayers are going up for those hit by the damage and devastation of Hurricane Sandy.

Feel guilty with so many people in dire straits and we are having perfect weather in Texas.

Can't believe NOVEMBER is here!

Alex started his month with Childress' annual AG DAY!  Both boys helped make homemade little loaves of bread for the event on Monday.  It's a community food project!
The local Childress FFA club helped assist and work the variety of events and activities for the 5th graders for Ag Day on Thursday.  Here Alex is - working hard!  (maybe....)

We did it!  Our weekend plan was to add enough geocaches to make the total 600!  And do it before time changed on Saturday.  We went somewhere in Oklahoma - we were truly in the "boon-docks" finding caches!  It was a beautiful day this Saturday - so glad that we were able to get some time outside and enjoy the fall colors all around!

Don't forget to "fall back" an hour on all of your clocks tonight!

Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

Geocaching "Meet and Greet" Event

Saturday, Team "KVannoy" traveled to Caprock Canyon State Park to attend our 1st Meet & Greet Event of West Texas Geocachers!

We were so excited to finally meet up with some of the "infamous" stars of geocaching!

We even splurged and had shirts made up with our geocaching team "Signature" name on the front!  Just a note - if you sign up for this... think of a really cool name - KV didn't know this and just put his own name for our team!  Who knew that the adventure of this game would become a HUGE part of our lives??

We have hit over
300 geocaches
this year so far - for 2012!  You never know what you will find!  We met up with the flock of geese outside of Clarendon one afternoon - awesome!  Here is a pic of the boys at "Half Way Tree" near Breckenridge, Tx!
We have learned some interesting things while geocaching!  For more info - click here for www.geocaching.com website!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you had an AWESOME weekend!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most,
until next time...
