2018 August Card Swap - SYMPATHY

Our theme for the August's Card

Swap was "SYMPATHY"!  This theme is a traditional one because of the need for a sympathy card is common.  

Also, to get ready for the fall season - this month's challenge was a PHOTO challenge - use a selected photograph for the color scheme of the sympathy card.  Below is our selected photo.

     We met at the CHS Media Center to swap our month's swaps. Kept the decorations within the theme of the color scheme and served a "fall" snack mix!

DAY 5 – Floral & Leaves

This is the final lesson...  For the Day 5 lesson, we painted a variety of flowers and leaves.  What's watercolor without painting florals...  I was super excited to get into watercolor florals today!

DAY 4 – Landscapes & nature

Day 4 lesson, we painted several skies, landscapes - along with some "galaxies"!  Also a fun CACTUS - this is the year for cacti, huh!!

DAY 3 – Lettering & Typography

For the next lesson, we painted a variety of letters and writing with rainbow blended colors!   I love to letter - so adding to watercolor and using watercolor was exciting for me today! It requires LOTS of practice and I need to practice...

On this project, I used a "rubber cement masking" that didn't work real well - taking up my paper on removal...  grrrrr!  Need to work on this technique!  The wet-into-wet watercolor is so magical as it mingles - the beauty of watercolor!

Tried to cover up the "pulled paper" with glitter embossing...  inside the "V".
