Words that a Mother Never Wants to Hear...

Last night, the boys exclaimed
"words that a Mother NEVER  wants to hear"...
Mom, where's my hermit crab?  Mom, I can't find him.  Mom, The Hermit Crab is not here in his cage - he must be somewhere in our house...
Argh!
OMG - there is a CRAB roaming my house...  we have looked everywhere - this is not funny - this thing is UGLY and has beady eyes and CLAWS...  Everyone tells me just to wait - that we'll SMELL him soon after he dies and begins to rot - double ARGH! Yuk, yuk, yuk...  Oh well, life goes on at the Vannoy House...

Here's a very good cake recipe - it was given to me by a co-worker from school.  She made these as cupcakes when the 4-Her's had their concession stand at our local rodeo and we sold them there!  Also the "A Team" (Andy, Alex & Aric) have posted their favorite family CAKE RECIPES on the left sidebar for this month for sharing!  So grab a cake recipe or two and bake up some goodies for your family this weekend!

Dr. Pepper Cake
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 small box instant Vanilla pudding
4 Eggs
1/4 cup Oil
1 can Dr. Pepper
Start with dry ingredients; mix in eggs and oil.  Add Dr. Pepper (mixture will foam); Stir until mixture is well blended.  Cook at  350 degrees!  Cupcakes - 22 minutes;  9x13 - 34 minutes;  2-9" round cake 28 minutes; bundt-44 minutes.  Frost or eat plain - Enjoy a very moist and tasty cake!

Have a great day!  Alex plays in his first tackle football game tomorrow in Perryton.  Go #85!  Hug the ones you love!  Thanks for stopping by!

I LOVE Dr. Pepper cake. My step-mom makes them for me. Wish she would make me one right now!!! I can think of a lot of worse words to hear, in fact, I probably heard them today. Hopefully, crabs can't climb on the bed, right????

love you!!

Here's a suggestion to find your hermit crab: in the room where he is most likely lost (though he could have roamed further) put newspaper down on the floor (best done at night when setting down to sleep). Set a small bowl of ocean salt water (you should have ocean salt water for your hermit crab anyway, not hermit crab salt water, but salt water made from a mix for salt water aquariums) out in the middle of the newspaper. Turn off the lights. It could take a while, but the crab will definitely "smell" the saltwater and come to it, as they do need it to survive. Hope you find your crab!
Some excellent hermit crab information that your pet store doesn't know and will help you keep your crab alive can be found at http://www.crabstreetjournal.com

woops forgot to say, the newspaper (or wrapping paper or something similar) is so you can hear him if he comes crawling. :)
