Recipe Swap / Toasted Pecans

Hello out there!  Thanks for stopping by!

We, in the panhandle of Texas, have been playing in the snow for the last couple of days!  For two weeks now, snow has been in our forecast!  Thursday, we finally had a 10 am start - yahoo!  Those are the best kind of school days for me!  LOL!

For this week's Recipe Swap, I've grabbed one of KV's recipes!  He doesn't often cook, but when he does - awesome!  He has made this recipe a couple of times already this year - 2014 and the pecans are SO GOOD!  Savory and salty...  YUM!  It's SUPER simple - and you might already have the ingredients...  Enjoy!

Toasted Pecans

1 cup Butter; melted

6 cups shelled Pecans

Salt; to taste

Preheat oven to 275 degrees.  Pour the butter into a medium and mix in the pecans. Stir until pecans are well-coated.  Arrange coated pecans in a single layer on one or two medium baking sheets.  Sprinkle with salt.  Bake in the preheated oven 1 hours; stirring occasionally - KV stirs every 15 minutes.  Remove from heat, cool and store in covered container.

Learned a new word from all our WINTER weather - it's "Rime Ice".

Saturday, we woke up to a thick fog and frost "pricks" were EVERYWHERE - this was rime ice.  It was BEAUTIFUL... lasted until mid-day and finally melted - It was so bizarre but so pretty on all the trees, bushes, grasses - every thing!

Wishing you a GREAT week ahead!  We've got snow in the forecast again on Tuesday...  Bundle up and take care!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most, until next time...

I have missed your blogs! You're my main blogging friend! Goodness the boys are growing so tall and too fast. Going to try the pecans this weekend. Bye!
