June 2014 Card Swap "Movie Night"

Our challenge for the June's Card Swap was "Movie Night"  including a color scheme of black and white...   This theme was an unique theme for our ladies to take and shine with their creativeness!

Holding the card swap at my house, I decided to make some quick party treats that went along with the theme for this month.  A simple stamped bottle tag that held a straw and fit over the neck of a cherry-limeaide drink bottle and a preprinted mini-bag of popcorn!  Who can watch a movie without popcorn...!!  Found the pdf for the popcorn bags here at this link.  Pam also brought each of us a box of Milk Duds!  These ladies are so sweet - there is always a refreshing, positive atmosphere when we all meet together!  So lucky to have these women in my life!!

Here are the cards for the swap... enjoy!

PAM
Oh my!  Is this card not "adorbs"??  The detail, the little intricate perks, this is such a WOW card.  Is anyone ready for a MOVIE NIGHT??  This card uses the black & white color scheme along with yellow and red.  It's the attention to detail that sends it over the top... check out the popcorn, ribbon, coke drink w/straw, film strip title - great job, Pam!

MARIA
LOVE this whimsical card - remember the classic "Rocky Horror Picture Show" - Maria found inspiration from this movie - so cool!  This throws me back to my college days...  With the skull & bones along and the feminine hearts & stars makes this a fun, FUN card! Love the black & white polk-a-dot with red cherry & film block along with the lime green ribbon! And check out the POP of the inside with the 3-D effect of the cut-out spiral embellishment that carries out the color scheme through-out the card.

APRIL
Has this card got "Glamour" or what... talk about the RED CARPET - this card has flashy style and detail.  The paper-pieced sunburst technique using black, white, glittery red and SILVER really add a fabulous look to the cover!  And check out the hounds-tooth tab closure with ribbon - so fancy! Inside continues the color scheme with lots of glitz stars and glam! April - this card is AWESOME!

ANGIE
Here's the perfect black & white MOVIE NIGHT card - with the classic repeat of the color scheme through out with different patterns really adds to this card.  The moveable clapboard adds a fun element on the front of the layered card along with ribbon and other embellishments.  Inside features a TICKET to complete your movie night theme!  Angie has created a "show-stopper" of a card here with her swap!

MELISSA
This is a postcard style swap that features a POPCORN coupon insert that pulls out and a card fold-out using the black & white color scheme with lots of yellow and red. On the card fold-out, it features movie theme cut-outs both on front and inside that awards the lucky recipient to a movie night!

Thanks for joining us and letting us share our card swap for June with you!  Here's a link to last month's swap here.

Next month's challenge is to create a "semi-homemade" card...  What is that, you ask - it's where you take a store bought card (ya know those cheap packs of cards...) and turn it into an original creation with the swapper's talent and supplies!!  This should be fun!  Be sure and check back for next month's swap!

Hope you are enjoying your summer!  Remember to hug the ones you love the most... until next time!
