July 2014 Card Swap "Semi-Homemade"

Hello!  Our July 2014 Card Swap was held the last Monday of the month - it's challenge was to make a
 SEMI-HOMEMADE card.

This was a new challenge for us!  To take a pack of preprinted cards and add-to with added embellishments, from our personal supplies and some stamped items to create a unique card!  The results turned out FABULOUS!

We also had a treat this month.  Our team member Margie Robinson made refreshments for all - it was a FEAST to be exact!  Fancy Caesar Salad in a cup w/ baked Parmesan crisps, fruit pizza, chips, dip and mini quiches - oh my!  It was 'delish!  Thank you again, Margie!  She's a sweetie and a great cook!

Onward to the card swaps!  We had six swappers this month that created a
SEMI-HOMEMADE CARD!

This was my preprinted card that I grabbed up at Wal-Mart - in a 10 pack.  I wanted a manly color scheme and thought this card would fit nicely for my plan.

That's because I wanted to go with a 'Tache theme!!  It's everywhere; so I needed an excuse to buy some mustache crafting items!
This card features a layered front with a 'tache embossed glittered top that had a cut-out insert of a stamped 'tache in the middle using the color scheme of blue, brown and grass green!  Embossed the envelope and added computer-generated "Fan{tache}tic" headings and sayings to it and the card!  This card would be suitable for anyone for anything!  I hope!

PAM
Pam purchased an animal print card; added texture with an embossing folder on both the envelope and card; embellishments of a glitz black bow, button and BOOM!  a fabulous semi-homemade card!

ANGIE
Angie's multi-layered floral semi-homemade card is a show-stopper!  The card showcase's a whimsical circular shape along with a bright summer color scheme - add the embossed texture on the inside, bright fushia stamping, ribbons and decorative brad- all adds up to a dazzling card for any female!

APRIL
April started out with a card that held a variety of bold colors and patterns; she added flowers, rhinestones, stickers, net ribbon and embossed card-stock colored paper to complete this "Thank You" semi-homemade card!

KIMBERLY
Kimberly continue the gold embossing that was on her purchased card to the stamped inside of her card and on the matching envelope.  She also added eyelash yarn & ribbon for that texture bling to create a VERY elegant semi-homemade card!

MARIA
Maria began with a zebra printed preprinted card - she created an embossed, stamped focal point, added embellishments, and punched flowers to create more appeal with layers of red and turquoise colors along with her whimsical stamped images - this is such a creative semi-homemade card!

In addition to our swap AND our feast - our fearless Stampin' Up Demonstrator - Maria Hale taught us a VERY, super-cool technique in making a tissue paper flower that looks like a carnation!  VERY appropriate in using for embellishments for a WOW factor on any project.  We also assembled a sack-envelope and a sweet card that featured a stamped 3-D layered flower with a bow!  Thanks Maria - she's the one to contact for your scrapbook and crafting needs from Stampin Up!  She is AWESOME!  (Just a little partial... can ya tell??)

This month was a great success!  - Here is a link to last month's card swap - "Movie Night".  Next month's challenge has been set - we're making CANCER cards; cards appropriate to be sent to our local cancer patients - we're making a swap card and some extra cards to be donated to our local cancer organization!  Childress can always use cards for this purpose - so if you have time - donate some cards & stamps !!  It will be used and definitely appreciated!!

Thanks for stopping by and letting us share our card swaps! Remember to hug the ones you love the most... until next time!
