Aric's Fire Prevent Poster

Here's Aric's entry for this year's local Fire Prevention Poster contest.  It's held each year by the Childress Fire Department.  The winners get to have a pizza lunch with the local firemen in the park after riding there on a fire engine.  We've been participating in this contest since 1995!  My boys always have the pressure of doing "ART" contest. We have fun! They come with the idea, do a sketch and I'll help them place what - where, but they really do all the art work.  Just look at it - Aric has a knack for detail - he's got the talent too; sadly most kids will stop drawing around 10-11 years old... we shall see with Aric!  We are very proud of him.  This is the first year that Alex didn't get to participate... he kinda missed it!  But he went out with a bang; Aric didn't place last year, so he was out for vengeance! Are we competitive? I hope not!  But it doesn't hurt to set goals.  He declared that he would win this next year and tried hard.  We are very proud of him - not because he won, but because he gave 110%.  You'll have to go see his poster- they're all on display at United grocery store in the front foyer.  It's a great community activity!  One of the reason we live in a small town!
