Recipe Swap/Indian Tacos

It's summer time, so here's is the recipe of our family's concoction of an Indian Taco!  (Which is one of KV's favorite "Fair" food!)  I've been teasing my family for over 2 weeks with this recipe - finally made it for lunch today!  We LOVE this recipe... but it's not a "healthy" meal ):  so don't eat too many at one time!

Indian Taco Topping
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 8 oz. Tomato Sauce
1 16 oz. Pinto Beans
1 pkg. Chili Mix
1 lb. American Cheese; cubed

Brown ground beef; drain.  Add tomato sauce, beans, chili mix - heat through.  Add cheese, cool until the cheese is melted.  Serve on Indian Fry Bread.  Top with your favorite toppings:  lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream... as desired!

Indian Fry Bread
3 cups sifted SELF-RISING Flour
1 cup warm Milk
OR
3 cups sifted all-purposed Flour
1 T. Baking Powder
1/2 t. Salt
1 cup warm Milk
Combine flour with warm milk, a little at a time, stirring to form a  soft ball.  By hand, knead the dough into a smooth ball - let stand for 15 minutes.  Pull off "egg-size" portion of dough and roll out to 1/8 or 1/4" thick.  Pierce with fork all over flour disc.  Fry in a heated skillet with hot oil until brown; flip and brown that side. Drain and store on paper towel.  Serve with Indian Taco topping and other sides!  Enjoy!

Hey!  Try out this seasoning... It's "Tony Chachere's Origianl Creole Seasoning" The Honduras AIMers that are staying in Childress (Steve & Keith) introduced us to this spice - WOW!    You use it like SALT!  "When it is salty enough, it's seasoned to perfection!"  Try it out on your pork chops, steaks, grilled chicken... even scrambled eggs (my fave!).  Let me know what you think!  It's very tasty and adds a "zing"!

Man, sounds great! Tell your little boys to quit scaring the little girls away! Someday, they will want them around.

OK, there is no place to comment about the June card swap, so I am commenting here. Loved your card - amazing - just like you. The leaf over the lion's face was too adorable - tell Aric he's a genius! I tried to use wonderunder to stick mine, but it didn't work. I had already planned to sew it, so used some red line tape to hold it in place for a while. I finally posted everyone's cards, so take a look. Thanks for linking to me. Hey, also, love the new signature. You will have to teach me how to do that!
