Make, Bake or Grow 2009

Our annual "Make, Bake or Grow" Christmas party for our local Career Club was this week. Each member had to make, bake or grow a gift for each member - we only have 6 members; so that's just 5 gifts. This is my 16th year (argh!) to do this! We had a wonderful time, good food, fun and fellowship. These ladies are very special to me and to our community. Here are some pics of the gifts that I made and received!

One of the gifts received was a bag of Apricot Tea mix (or sometimes called "Friendship Tea"). For my recipe swap this week - I'll include the recipe given to me by "Judge Judy" - she's a sweetheart. This is a perfect item to make and give out as gifts during the holidays!

Apricot Tea
1 (18 oz.) jar Tang
1 to 2 c. sugar
1/2 c. pre-sweetened lemonade mix
1 (3 oz.) pkg. apricot flavored Jello
2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. instant tea

Combine ingredients in large bowl, stirring well. Store mix in air-tight container. To serve, place 1-2 tablespoons in a cup and mix with 1 cup boiling water. Stir well. Yields about 50 servings. Enjoy!

The gift that I gave was an assortment of handmade cards and a box-bag that matched. There was a birthday, get well, sympathy (or religious), thank you and a friendship card - all coordinating together with ribbons and colors. They're the new colors from the Stampin Up catalog this year! (See Steph... using the ribbon again!) I enjoy making and giving out cards... and made the ladies to promise to USE these cards! Hope they liked them!

Speaking of cards... our annual family Christmas cards will be assembled this weekend! Finally decided on a layout and completed most of the cut-outs, punches, stamping. Now it's just sitting down and assembling them! The whole family will be apart of this... (they just may not know it yet... LOL!).

Christmas is coming! Hope you and your family are hanging in there, keeping warm and enjoying the season! Thanks for stopping by - hug the ones you love! Only 6 more days of school - yahoo!
